Equalized Perimeter Pressure for Picture Frames and Polygon Glue-Ups
Clamping four-sided mitered frames or polygonal boxes using conventional bar clamps is notoriously difficult. Uneven clamping pressure causes miters to slide out of alignment, open up at the heels, or crush delicate outer molding details.
The HORUSDY 4-Piece Band Clamp set provides uniform radial tension around any perimeter shape:
- 13-foot high-tensile woven nylon strap provides ample reach for large mirror frames, display shadowboxes, and hexagonal assemblies.
- Four self-adjusting corner brackets swivel from 35 degrees to 300 degrees to seat cleanly against acute, right, and obtuse angles.
- The integrated screw-clamp handle and quick-release ratchet lever allow gradual, micro-adjustable tensioning.
Glue-Up Evaluation
We glued up four 18x24-inch mitered cherry picture frames in our shop. The ratcheting band clamp pulled all four miter joints closed simultaneously with zero gap at the inside or outside corners.
Trade-Offs & Shop Flaws:
- The corner brackets are molded from composite plastic; apply painter's tape or paste wax to prevent PVA wood glue squeeze-out from permanently bonding to the bracket faces.
- The strap must be kept flat and untwisted when threading through the ratcheting spool to ensure smooth tensioning.
