Drool For Tools is a tool review and buying-notes site. We do not sell, rent or trade your contact details. When you click a store link, the store or its affiliate network may set cookies to credit the sale.

2. Information we collect
Information you choose to send us
When you use the contact form or the brand form, or email us, we collect what you send: your name, email address, company, the tool you are asking about and your message. If you call, we see your phone number.
Technical and log information
When your browser loads a page, our host records standard server logs: IP address, browser user-agent, operating system, the page requested, the response code, the referring page and the time. The logs are used to keep the site running, to stop abuse and automated scraping, and to watch page speed.
3. Cookies and third-party technology
Our own pages set no cookies and store nothing in your browser.
- Web fonts: pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your browser's request, including your IP address, when a page loads.
- Amazon Associates: Amazon links carry our Associates tag. After you click one, Amazon may use cookies to credit a qualifying purchase to us. See the Amazon Privacy Notice on Amazon.com.
- Other stores: links to The Home Depot and Lowe's are ordinary links with a tracking tag in the address, and those stores may set their own cookies. If we join other affiliate programs (such as Sovrn Commerce, Impact, CJ Affiliate or AvantLink), their links set cookies in the same way to credit a sale, and we will name them here.
- AvantLink: while our application with AvantLink is open, the home page loads a short verification script from AvantLink's server, which receives the request for that page.
These cookies do not send your name, address or email to Drool For Tools. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings; the site works without them.
4. Affiliate links and advertising
Drool For Tools follows the Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255).
- Amazon Associates Program: Drool For Tools is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, Drool For Tools earns from qualifying purchases.
- Other stores: links to other stores may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. The disclosure sits next to the first buy link on each page.
- Editorial independence: tags, listed specs and buying notes are ours. We never accept payment for a tag, a placement or a good word, and any unit we receive free or at a discount carries a line saying so on its page.
5. How we use information
We use what we collect only to:
- answer your messages, corrections and review-unit requests;
- keep the site running, fast and protected from abuse;
- meet legal, tax and accounting requirements.
We do not sell your personal information. We have never sold, rented or traded personal contact information to data brokers, lead aggregators or telemarketers, and we never will.
6. Service providers
- Google Cloud Platform and Firebase Hosting: hosting, content delivery, TLS, and the database that receives form submissions, in the United States.
- Google Fonts: the web fonts the pages use.
7. Your rights under state laws (Texas TDPSA and California CCPA)
Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and similar state privacy laws, you have these rights:
- Right to know and access: to confirm whether we process your personal data and get a copy.
- Right to correction: to have inaccurate personal data corrected.
- Right to deletion: to have personal data you gave us deleted.
- Right to opt out: of processing for targeted advertising, sale or profiling. We do not sell personal data or build behavioral profiles.
To use any of these rights, email hello@droolfortools.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We verify and answer every authenticated request within forty-five (45) days, free of charge.
8. Security and retention
Pages are served over HTTPS. Messages and requests you send are kept only as long as we need them to answer you or to meet tax and accounting requirements.
