Scribing Complex Profiles Without Cardboard Templates
Fitting luxury vinyl plank (LVP), hardwood flooring, or drywall sheets around contoured door casings, cast-iron plumbing soil stacks, and uneven stone hearths is traditionally tedious work. Making cardboard mockups and trimming with scissors wastes hours and leaves visible 1/8-inch gaps.
The Feeke Contour Gauge Set includes a 12-inch wide profile gauge for sweeping curves and a 5-inch gauge for intricate spindles and pipe offsets. Both tools feature high-density ABS pins sliding within an extruded aluminum track.
The Metal Cam-Lock Advantage
Budget plastic contour gauges use cheap friction sliders that shift the moment you lift the tool off the workpiece, ruining your layout line. The Feeke gauges incorporate a heavy-duty aluminum cam-lock lever. Once you press the pins against the contour, flipping the lever tightens the internal clamp bar, freezing every single pin rigidly in place.
Clean Layout Transfer to Material
With the profile locked, you lay the flat back of the gauge directly onto your flooring plank, run a 0.5mm pencil or scribe along the teeth, and make your cut with a jigsaw or oscillating multi-tool.
